Do you want to help out by being a beta or cheerleader? Yay, we'd love to
have you! Please comment below with the following information:

I will cheerlead!
1. Fic, art, vid, podfic?
2. Any characters or genres you're particularly enthusiastic about.
3. Things outside your comfort zone (epic tragedy, kidfic, particular
kinks, etc.).
4. How to reach you directly so the DSSS participant can protect his/her
anonymity.

I can volunteer to beta!
1. Fic, art, vid, podfic?
2. Areas of expertise (characters, pairings, areas of special knowledge:
i.e., Northern Canada, Chicago, RCMP, wolves, kids, particular kinks, etc.).
3. The kinds of betas you can do: (FIC: plot beta, spelling and grammar
only, story edit, line edit; ART: proportion/scale/color beta; VID: clip or
throughline beta; PODFIC: pronunciation, pacing beta.)
4. Things outside your comfort zone (epic tragedy, kidfic, character death,
particular kinks, etc.).
5. How to reach you directly so the DSSS participant can protect his/her
anonymity.

For participants:
We want you to have all the support you need! Please make use of
cheerleaders and betas to help keep your creative process on track and make
sure your gift is the best it can be. If you find you need a beta with
specialized knowledge and none of the volunteers in the comments below are
a good fit, please email the mods and we'll post a SEEKRIT beta request on
your behalf.

Remember, DON'T ASK YOUR RECIPIENT TO BE YOUR BETA OR CHEERLEADER, or it
will ruin the surprise!

If you are a participant whose AO3 username is different from your LJ
username, please clarify who you are in your comment so no one mistakenly
asks you to cheer/beta your own gift!

the mod running the tumblr page probably just didn't have time yet, but I just wanted to check to be sure anyway that this post and the most recent one will eventually be shared there too, right? I'd like to reblog them there so people who might not check the DW page often enough will also be aware of all the beta info :)

Types of beta: Just let me know what you're looking for-- the more specific the better. I can do big-picture "what's working/what's not" type feedback. I can shower you with hyper-specific praise. I can get VERY into the details for line (or clip)-level edits.

Areas of expertise: I can give feedback on transgender issues if that comes up. Also kink and polyamory.

I'm down for whatever (I think?).

1. I can cheerlead fic, art, vids, and podfic.
2. I love all the dS characters, but especially Fraser, Kowalski, Dief, Vecchio, and Frannie.
Will cheerlead mature/explicit, angst, darkfic, BDSM (preferably consensual, but noncon/dubcon/implied consent okay too), major/minor character death (canonical/not, dS character or OFC/OMC).
3. No mpreg or kidfic.

Betaing:
1. I can beta fic and vids.
2. Areas of expertise: Fraser, Kowalski, Dief, Chicago, hospital/medical/nursing). But happy to beta especially Fraser, Kowalski, Dief (and Turtle, though there's not much to go on, lol), Vecchio, Welsh, Frannie, Elaine, Thatcher, Turnbull, Huey, Louis, Fraser Sr., Frobisher, and Victoria.
3. The kinds of betas I can do:
FIC: plot, SPAG, characterization, dialogue, continuity
VID: clips, editing, general impressions/vid "message"
Additional notes: I'm totally willing to beta mature/explicit, angst/feels (with/without happy ending), darkfic, BDSM (preferably consensual, but noncon/dubcon/implied consent is totally doable), major/minor character death (canonical/not, dS character or OFC/OMC). Pretty much open to anything, except:
4. Things outside my comfort zone: No mpreg or noncanonical kidfic, please.
