I hope you will consider joining. Minimum entry is 1000 words or arts <3

Welcome back to another year of DSSS. This year everything will run like last year. Hopefully!
The AO3 tagset will run like a standard exchange with 3 requests to 1 match-up carried out using AO3 algorithms.
Requests will be visible from the start of sign-ups. This allows for more transparency and more time to start thinking about treats, whether or not you decide to sign up for the main event.

There will be no beta check-in. We recommend you get your work beta'd before submitting it to continue DSSS high standards. It is a gift after all. The mod (me) will be checking for any glaring mistakes when you submit and will get in touch if anything needs amending.
That being said, there will be a beta volunteer post at a later date, so please ask if you are struggling to get a beta.
Nobody wants to default. But if you do, and later on you get inspiration for something else, there's nothing wrong with throwing more cake into the mix. Who doesn't love more cake at Christmas? I will still ensure that everybody who signs up gets a gift regardless. But treats are welcome from everybody, even if you've not signed up.
The collection will be open at the same time this year, giving more time for contributions.

The AO3 tagset will run like a standard exchange with 3 requests to 1 match up carried out using AO3 algorithms.

We are scrapping the rule that if you default on your main match you can't treat. We understand why this was done previously but we decided that life happens sometimes, and inspiration comes and goes when it feels like it. Nobody wants to default. But if you do, and later on you get inspiration for something else, there's nothing wrong with throwing more cake into the mix. Who doesn't love more cake at Christmas? I will still ensure that everybody who signs up gets a gift regardless.

Hello all! The old/lost dSSS entries that were on the defunct (for several years now) crocolanthus server - and the initial LJs - are being imported to AO3 by OTW. I worked so hard tracking down links from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine (and LJ) and OTW is going to start importing next month.
Please see their post on AO3 for more details on how to reach them if you're an author or were a recipient and you think you might have a dSSS fanwork (or 2, or 3, or more!) that will be in their import. (I will not be doing the importing, only OTW does that, so I'm not the one to contact going forward!) Thank you! And thank you, OTW!
