Reminder: everyone must keep their recipient and their work a secret until Reveal Day! Do not publicly discuss the specifics of what you're making: if you talk about what a great steampunk AU you're going to write, and then you're the only author who submits a steampunk AU, then you've given yourself away. Don't do that! Keep discussions of your giftwork private and with people who will be circumspect!

If you have questions about your assignment, email us at dsss.admin at gmail.com and we will get you answers. Absolutely refrain from contacting your recipient about their requests -- even anonymously, as journal comments may be set to log IP addresses, thus revealing your identity. Just send your questions to us. We're happy to do the asking for you and then relay the answers back!

• If you want to review the challenge FAQ & rules, they are here.
Dear Santa/Giftmaker letters are here!
• A volunteer call for betas and cheerleaders, as well as other activities, will be coming soon!
• Works are due December 18, so there's lots and lots of time. \o/

YAY!! Are you excited? WE are super-excited and looking forward to a great challenge this year. As always, if you have any questions about any aspect of DSSS, comment or send us email. Thanks!

If you signed up for dSSS this year, you should have received an email with your assignment for this year's challenge.

If you have not received this email, please check your spam or junk mail filter. If it isn't there either, please let us know ASAP at dsss.admin at gmail dot com.

Remember, your recipient will have made up to three requests. You select ONE of these to make or write.

If you have any questions, email us and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.

We're planning to have disscussions and recs posts, and other activites to keep you all revved up...

There are a number of writing communities that might be helpful. Check out [livejournal.com profile] ficfinishing, which is a community designed to cheer you on towards finishing your fics, and is fantastically supportive! If what you need is more along the lines of a kick in the pants, check out [livejournal.com profile] wrisomifu, which is a community that runs every November with the goal of getting you to write ten minutes every day.

Got any other great writing resources? Leave a link in the comments!
