3 weeks! and bits of news

sageHello, dear DSSS participants! There are THREE (3) weeks left, omg!
1. First of all, uploading will open soon! (With luck, this will happen before the end of this week...so, wish us luck! *g*) Look for Mergatrude & me to post separate step-by-step upload instructions to the comm -- one is for written works and the other is for visual or mixed fic & art works. This should give everyone a LOT of time to tinker with their upload to make sure it looks right before Dec. 24th. (Please hold your questions about uploading until after we post instructions & open the archive. Thanks!)
2. Again, you may – if you so desire – create multiple gift works for your recipient. DSSS only requires that you create ONE giftwork for your recipient, per the challenge rules. Bonus works are strictly optional and don't need to meet the minimum. (Personally, I would advise everyone to focus on making your primary giftworks as great as you possibly can. Anything more is secondary.)
3. Because it's been asked: ALL GIFTWORKS MUST BE COMPLETE! WIPs are NOT permitted. All stories must have a proper beginning, middle, and end -- no hanging endings or placeholders or TBC's. All artworks must appear sufficiently complex and complete. If we get any vids this year...you get the picture. Our minimum word count/effort requirement is so low because we want all of you to receive a complete and wonderful giftwork from your Santa/Giftmaker. Gifting someone an unfinished work is unfair to your recipient. (Note: it is fine if you plan to build a series off of your story/artwork/vid at some point in the future, but the gift you submit for DSSS MUST work as a stand-alone story/artwork/vid.)
4. If you can't complete your work by the deadline, let us know ASAP (at dsss.admin at gmail .com) so we can pull in a pinch hitter!
5. All works MUST meet the deadline, Tuesday Dec. 18th, 11:59pm (Chicago time).
6. Those of you who finish early, please consider signing up to be a beta and/or cheerleader to help out other DSSS participants! (Remember, never call on your recipient to beta or cheerlead their own gift.)

Whew, okay. So! How are things going this week? Feel free to celebrate progress or bemoan your lack of ideas/time/inspiration/etc. in the comments below. Remember to keep the specifics of what you're making nice and hush-hush, but commiserate at will! \o/
