(It looks like Ande's internet is still kaput, so I'm posting this on her behalf. Text cribbed largely from past editions.)

About to delve into the Aladdin's cave that is the Due South Seekrit Santa, 2012 edition? Here's a way to make your holiday reading & art & vid viewing an exciting communal experience. This post lets us track what gift work we're on and what we like about it. Mini-recs, if you will.

Okay, it looks like Ande's internet connection is still out, so I'm going to go ahead and post the Guess the Creators post for her. Alas, I can't play in this guessing game since I know all the answers, but PLEASE JUMP INTO THE COMMENTS & GIVE YOUR BEST GUESSES OF WHO MADE WHAT! Authors, Artists, & Vidder, if you want to offer prizes to people who correctly guess your work, you can say so in the comments, too. ♥

Creator Reveal is January 1st, so you have until then to guess!

This is a list of everyone who actually posted work(s). )

Okay! Check out all the works and get guessing!

Hi all!

Popping my head briefly onto the internet and taking the opportunity to start checking out the Seekrit Santa gifts.  Apart from the general coolness of the works, I was struck by the high proportion of works featuring/focusing on female characters.  After a quick and dirty count (apologies if I got it wrong), I think we've got, out of 34 works:

Statistics on female characters )

I think that's pretty impressive, given the source material! :)

Also, for slash pairings, the score is at (I think):

Slash stats )

Note that many works are multiple-counted, here, because there are a lot that contain multiple female characters, multiple pairings, etc.

I think this is kind of interesting.  Hopefully you do, too. :)

Now, back to holidays with the in-laws...  See y'all later.
