It's December 24th, and the archive is in great shape: thanks to the spectacular efforts of our amazing team of pinch-hitters, we now have more stories than we have participants. \o/

Pinch-hitters are incredible people, you guys. They put so much energy and consideration into making sure everybody gets a story written just for them, and they do it in a matter of a few short days instead of the weeks the rest of us get to take. It's a hair-raising prospect! I don't know if I could ever pull it off, but I am incredibly grateful that these guys can. Pinch-hitters! You know who you are, you amazing bunch of people! THANK YOU for stepping forward and helping out -- dSSS wouldn't be happening without you.

*raises glass of eggnog*

I am going to spend the day making sure everything shows up as it should, and then we'll be set. I'm hoping to open the archive for reading at around 9 PM Chicago time.

sisterofdream, same thing for you: a lovely pinch-hitter wrote you "Sunday Morning Coming Down", and then your original writer uploaded "Down the Hall" as well!

And aingeal8c: your original writer posted on time, but a Secret Admirer seems to have uploaded a bonus story for you, too -- that one is "Dinner Date".

ETA - d'oh! "Dinner Date" is actually a story for Nakeisha, from the 2005 challenge. It was uploaded with some erroneous information by mistake, and in the midst of the final uploading crunch, I failed to catch it. *headdesk*
