Characterization Post!

Dear participants! If you're having trouble figuring out what to create for your assignment, or if you'd just like to take a little time to think aloud about what your characters might do in hypothetical situations, here's a venue to discuss DS characterization.
First, here are links to the character resource posts from last year, so you can see what other people have already said about our characters. DO NOT reply to the old posts! No one will see your comments there! Read and come back! We'll wait.
1. Fraser, Ray Vecchio, and Ray Kowalski
2. Diefenbaker, Frannie, Stella, Welsh, Thatcher, Turnbull, Bob, and Maggie
3. Elaine Besbriss, Jack Huey, Louis Gardino, Tom Dewey, Buck Frobisher, Martha, George, and Caroline Fraser, Victoria Metcalf, Irene Zuko, Andreas Volpe, and Denny Scarpa
Now, in the comments of THIS POST, we invite you to analyze, link to meta & fic, ask questions, answer questions, go on at length about any of these characters and their relationships -- and, especially, bring up other DS characters for discussion! In addition to the people listed above, there are lots of other fascinating, memorable, and important characters in Due South, such as Eric, Tom Quinn, Ma & Pop Vecchio, Mark Smithbauer, Inusiq, Anita Cortez, Gerard, Muldoon, and others. Come discuss!
FYI: This post will remain open, and I will continue to link to it as a resource as we approach the DSSS deadline. You may want to check back now and then to see how the conversations are progressing.
Rule #1: REFRAIN from character bashing & ostracizing fen of less-popular characters. I will delete any comments that stray into that territory. DO use this space to examine how canon characterizations function in the show and how they could be repaired/improved/pushed further in fanworks. Keep the comments constructive, respectful, and meta-focused, and we'll be in good shape.
Rule #2: Your assignment and recipient are SEEKRIT! Make sure you don't give away what you're creating via the characters you discuss! For example, if you're seekritly writing your recipient Eric/Fraser fic, then don't just bring up Eric for discussion. Use the comments to talk about several other characters as well, so that the seekrit is nicely camouflaged, okay?
Okay! Let's talk about characters! Who confuses you? Who seems wildly inconsistent across episodes? Who have you created personal headcanon for? Who do you wish the show writers had better fleshed out?
